Getting There: Situated about 1.5 Miles from Holsworthy on the A3072 Holsworthy to Hatherleigh Road.
Simpson Valley Coarse Fishery offers coarse fishing on 6 lakes set in peaceful parkland surroundings, offering something for every type of coarse angler.
Kingfisher and Buzzard are the original and therefore oldest ponds on site. Lower and Upper Fuzzey were dug in the late 80's, and Jenny wren, skylark, martins lake and mallard have all been added since.
Skylark: Many Match size carp and tench inhabit this pretty little lake. Carp range from 1/2 lb to good doubles. A few big tench up to double figures are also thought to be present. Ideal for pleasure and match coarse fishermen, especially on the pole.
Martins lake: The main match lake, stocked with lots of common and mirror carp to 8lb. Pole fishing is a good method and floating bread often works well even in late autumn.
Mallard: The specimen lake stocked with big but elusive carp. Only recommended for hardcore carpers!
Jenny Wren: Intermediate carp lake offering common, mirror and ghost carp to upper doubles. Good bait presentation will usually be rewarded with plenty of action.
Lower Fuzzey: One of the most beautiful coarse fishing lakes you will ever fish, offering excellent sport for pleasure anglers. Famous for its tench, it also contains roach, gudgeon, the occasional chub and some carp to unknown size.
Upper Fuzzey: Main carp lake, Upper fuzzey also contains tench, roach, bream and chub. The carp are very crafty and present a challenge to even the most experienced carpers, but the lake can be enjoyed by all types of anglers.
