Getting There: From M5 Junction 27: Take the A361 to Barnstaple. After some 25 miles, you will come to only the third roundabout since leaving the motorway. It has a Little Chef next to it. Keep on the A361 for two more miles then, turn first right to West Buckland. First junction [250 metres] turn left, signposted to Riverton.
From Barnstaple on the A361: Follow signs to Landkey and Swimbridge. Follow signs to Riverton.
Riverton Lakes provide coarse fishing on two lakes set in a beautiful Devon valley with Exmoor and the wonderful North Devon beaches all within easy reach. Riverton provides an ideal anglers retreat or a perfect base to explore the beauty of North Devon.
Pampas Lake:
A two acre specimen pool holding a large head of common, mirror and ghost carp [to over 25lbs] as well as roach, bream [to 4lb], tench [to 5lb] and some very large perch. Favourite baits include sweetcorn, luncehon meat, boilies and various surface baits.
Willow Pool:
This is a general pleasure and match lake with carp [to 8lb], tench, bream, roach, perch and crucians. This is an ideal venue for novices and experienced anglers alike. Try the margins early and late with maggots, luncheon meat and swetcorn for mixed bags. Proper sized keepnets may be used but please handle all fish with the utmost care.
